Delightful Insanity

Winter Doggy Duds

T and I are selling our homemade goodies at this Huge 2-day craft show and of course we can’t not buy anything! Our first purchase is, of course, for the FurKids. These were just too darn cute to pass up!

Yes, yes. They are fleece scarves for doggies! We don’t usually put clothes on our FurKids, however I think accessories are much more acceptable, especially since Mister Ruka LOVES to wear them! 🙂  He’ll adore his new winter wardrobe and I’m sure Miss Jury will be at least a little excited, if not she’ll just wear it anyway to appease her crazy Moms. Hopefully I can get few good pictures of them with the scarves on before they start tugging each other around by them 🙂

AHHHHHHHH! For the second time, I have tried to post something and gotten an error, and if that isn’t bad enough when I go to re-publish my extremely long post I find that more than half of it has disappeared!! So in a quick recap….Christmas was lovely, but not without the usual family drama. One delightful highlight was of course my super special present that came in the mail! I was extremely excited to take part in this year’s Holiday Craft Exchange  and when I found a little brown package, that came all the way from Seattle, on my front porch I wasted little time in getting that baby in the house and practically pouncing on it like a lioness on a weak gazelle. Inside was the most charming chinese-style container filled with all sorts of goodies from the lovely ladies at Adventures In Making A Baby.

Thank you Kat, Anna and Arden (whose name I just adore by the way) for our wonderful little gifties! I think it’s pretty neat that we both got each others names in the exchange 🙂 I can’t wait for next year’s craft exchange; it is such a great way to meet other bloggers.

Well that’s it for now. It’s time for The Big Bang Theory and a glass (or more) of wine. I hope everyone had a wonderful Holiday Season and a Happy New Year!!!

Introducing…….Frederick Phineas Fern!!!!

Yes we named our christmas tree…….. Yes we know we have issues 🙂

Well here he is, in all his glammed out, glitzy glory!

Naked and ready for action!

Anyone got a light?

"Do these ornaments make me look fat?"

"Listen ladies, it's time to stop trimming this tree. I'm beginning to look like Lady GaGa."

It took Me, T and MF (her mom)  a total of five hours to dress him up! Five hours, six strands of lights, tons of ornaments, and countless strands of tinsel (icicles)… was exhausting! Fun, but exhausting! Next on the festive to-do list………Furbaby Christmas Pictures!!! (I hear the wine calling my name now…… That will be a taxing task and I’m sure I will need a glass. Or two!)

Tree Hunt

Yesterday we had some abnormally gorgeous weather for this time of year. Since it was such a nice day, we decided to go and pick out our christmas tree. We went to this little tree farm not far from the house, because you are allowed to search through the mini forest and cut down the tree of your choice. I’m all about new experiences and making new traditions, so with saw (and camara) in hand we (T, her Mom and I) went trekking through the thicket of trees.

And guess what….It was definitely not as simple as I thought it was going to be! There were hundreds of trees to pick from! And that was only the one section that contained only one species, there were at least three or four other sections of trees! Yowza!

It took us forever to find a tree that we all liked. If it was a good height, it wasn’t a good shape. If it was a good shape, it wasn’t a good height. Who knew picking a tree could be so challenging. After an hour or so of searching, we finally found one that was good enough to take home (or maybe it wasn’t, we were just so tired of walking up and down the steep hill that it looked real good to us). T cut it down and lugged it back to the building where it was measured (7 feet at $6 a foot! Yikes!), bundled, and tied to the top of the truck. Regardless of the price, it was a fun experience.

The tree we finally decided on.
